Bridget 18" Plush Pony

The fine horses that pulled our stagecoaches across the country, the express wagons in towns, and carried our Pony Express riders were an important part of Wells Fargo's history of coming through for customers.

Bridget started pulling the Wells Fargo wagon in 1894 in Phoenix, the new capital of the Arizona Territory. With a word of “stop” or “go” from her driver, Bridget carried out her daily routine of dropping off and picking up packages. Her intelligence and willingness to work made her a favorite at the Wells Fargo stables, and earned her extra treats.

- She measures 18" long

Nellie 18" Plush Pony

Every day at 7:00a.m., Nellie and her driver Rush Blodget picked up packages and bags of gold coins at the railroad station in Bakersfield, California. In 1898, Nellie made an unexpected stop when a sick soldier got off the morning train. It was Rush's brother, Sgt. Claude Blodget. Once Claude was safely in the wagon, Nellie took off at a lively trot to get him home. The soldier recovered, and Nellie's driver never forgot the "quiet dignity" of his "working pal" Nellie.
