Fargo 18" Plush Pony

Welcome Fargo, our 20th edition plush pony since the program started in 2003. The fine horses that pulled our stagecoaches across the country were an important part of Wells Fargo’s history of coming through for customers.

In 1917, Fargo posed with his driver, Edward Bontty, at the depot in Portland, Oregon. Pulling a money wagon, Fargo made deliveries to banks and other financial institutions. Managers kept Fargo on the job even as automobiles became common, reasoning that if the wagon were held up, “robbers could not get very far with a horse.”
